Lakes, Littoral Areas & Wetland in Florida

These natural habitats that surround us play an important role in our lives. At ESU, we are dedicated to protecting and prolonging these ecosystems through sustainable lake and wetland planting in Florida. Contact us to learn more about any of these services.

Upland, Wetland Creation & Restoration

Wetlands are vital for the protection of water quality, wildlife habitation, flood mitigation, and various natural functions. Although our state has protected wetland resources successfully, many have still been degraded by our past and current land uses. Unfortunately, these effects continue to grow as Florida’s population increases.

By restoring degraded areas, ESU holds the potential and power to improve water resources, wildlife habitats, and overall quality of life. We have also been an integral part of these habitats’ restoration and creation efforts in every corner of the state.

Lake & Littoral Plant Installation

Many lake excavation projects in Florida are required to plant native aquatic plants along the shoreline. This creates a planted littoral shelf and supports wildlife habitats, erosion control systems, and water quality by installing a barrier for the fertilizer runoff from golf courses and residential yards. Over the years, many state and local municipalities and private developers have depended on us to install and maintain littoral shelf plantings.

Lake & Littoral Maintenance
   Aquatic Vegetation Control

ESU offers exceptional service on any lake project in the state, from the inland region to the coast. We have the experience to work at large inland reservoirs, coastal saltwater impoundments, small stormwater lagoons, and more. Our professional team understands each lake is different, so we strive to customize our operations to be as unique as the lake we’re working on. Aquatic Vegetation Control is when excessive algae and aquatic vegetation can adversely affect not only your lake’s visual appeal but also your recreational activities, such as fishing. At Esu, we have extensive experience identifying and treating aquatic plants using herbicide. Our staff is trained and licensed by the State to use our programs. We exclusively use USEPA-certified aquatic herbicides to minimize our environmental impact.
